MICROBIOLOGICAL UNIT

 

Quality control of biological origin pesticides: quantification and estimation of the active ingredient vitality and detection of possible contaminant pathogens for humans. Biochemical and molecular characterization of bacteria, yeasts and fungi. Efficacy testing of products with fungicidal or bactericidal activity towards bacterial and fungal pathogens.

 

Quality control

  • Determination of the active ingredients for biological insecticides, fungicides and fertilizers through CFU, biochemical identification, direct microscopic counts and viability.

  • Research and quantification of microbial contaminants in biological insecticides, fungicides and fertilizers, cosmetics and medical device (Colony forming Units of bacteria/fungi/yeast, Coliforms Escherichia coli, Streptococci Group D, Pseudomonas spp, Staphilococcus aureus, Salmonella spp, Listeria spp, Yersinia spp, Clostridium perfringens, Bacillus cereus, Shigella etc), AFNOR ISO.

  • Susceptibility testing to antibiotics of GRAM + and GRAM – bacteria, NCCLS

  • Quantification and counting of mesophils lactic Bacteria, ISO

Validation

  • Validation methods for the quantifi cation of the active ingredients in biological insecticides, fungicides and fertilizers.
 

Molecular Characterization

  • Bacteria/fungi/yeasts and Plants through AFLP technique, Literature
 

Quantification

  • Quantification of toxins of Bacillus cereus, Literature
  • Quantification of delta endotoxins in fermentation broth, concentrated and technical powder of Bacillus thuringiensis
    through SDS-PAGE technique, Literature
 

Efficacy tests

  • Evaluation of the efficacy of active ingredients and formulated products (biologicals or chemicals) against phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria both in vitro and in vivo.

  • Quantitative suspension test for the evaluation of bactericidal activity of chemical disinfectants and antiseptics used in food, industrial, domestic and institutional areas.

  • Quantitative suspension test for the evaluation of fungicidal and yeasticidal activity of chemical disinfectants and antiseptics used in food, industrial, domestic and institutional areas.

  • Quantitative non-porous surface test for the evaluation of bactericidal and/or fungicidal activity of chemical disinfectants and antiseptics used in food, industrial, domestic and institutional areas.
